Dan Borstein created Boon Capital Advisors and Boon Capital in 2013 to bridge the gap that exists for clients between traditional investment opportunities and unique alternatives.
Prior to starting Boon, Dan was a Partner with the Summit Group at Morgan Stanley from 2004-2012. As a Financial Advisor Dan worked with Families and Small business owners to help them navigate the complexities of managing their wealth.
From 2000-2004 Dan worked at Goldman Sachs as a Regional Sales Director in the Institutional Advisory Services Group in the firm’s Asset Management Division. Prior to that Dan works as an Associate Vice President of Fixed Income Institutional Sales at Key Bank Capital Markets.
In 2000 he earned an MBA from the Boler School of Business at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio and was on the Dean’s list both years. Dan completed his undergraduate work at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, where he earned a bachelor of arts in economics with a minor in business. He has earned his FINRA licenses 7, 31, 63 and 66 and is also licensed in life, health and variable insurance.
Dan was a commissioner and Vice Chairman of the Business and Economic Development Committee for the City of Highland Park, Illinois and served on the Ravinia Business District Leadership Group. Dan also served on the board of directors for K.I.D.S.S. for Kids, an auxiliary of the Lurie Hospital in Chicago.
Dan is married to Samantha and they have three children, Tyler, Sabrina and Cooper. He is an avid golfer who enjoys skiing, traveling and spending time with his family.
